Currently the most cost effective chemistry on the market, Nickel Cadmium batteries give you more watt hours of operation (per shift) for the least amount of money. These versatile batteries can operate under extreme conditions of cold or heat (-30c to +50c). NiCd's major drawback is its susceptibility to memory effect, or its propensity to "forget" and not utilize its full capacity.
